Four of the Summer Demo songs leaked onto the internet in the early 00’s. A portion of session was released officially as Landscape Tantrums. On May 10th, 2024 another iteration of this session was uploaded online. The uploader stated:
“I’ve had the CD since January 2003, given to me by a friend (and bandmate), along with the Tremulant EP. He got the leak from an associate while he was interning for a record label in LA during the fall of 2002.”
This leads to a reasonable conclusion that this was a promo item given to record labels to convince them to take The Mars Volta on as a band, but until we have more information we are adding this to the Unofficial Releases section.
