Reviews from the Comatorium
“So the show was really awesome. It was the best show I’ve ever seen without knowing any of the songs. Top five somewhere in the best concerts I’ve ever seen. The whole band seemed to enjoy it. Omar was full of energy, moving along with the music in a beautiful way. What can I say, it was almost infectious.
All my friends thought it was a great show, even though they’ve almost never listened to Omar (&co) before. Small venue, right amount of people. As for Teris’ dancing, I love it.
Got to talk with D some after the show, such a nice guy. Got an autograph for my brother (who is also a drummer but couldn’t make it to the show because he got a last-minute chance to study jazz far up north in Sweden).”
“I was at the Stockholm show last night too. I’ve been a fan of omars music for some years now and (to compare it to a relationship like Omar would do) my relationship to his music is like being in a relationship that has been going on for a couple of years, you still love each other but the initial thrill is gone, you know each other thoroughly and it’s all getting kinda routine-like.
Last night completely changed that. It was like discovering his music all over again. Amazingly new and fresh material and exceptional performances by Omar, Teri and Deantoni. Nicci didn’t really stand out much but he did his job really well.
Got a chance to chat some with Deantoni before the show, I told him that I was really looking forward to the gig and he seemed genuinely surprised and happy, almost like he didn’t expect anyone that was there to be interested and eager to hear them play. He also said ha was really nervous, something I would never imagine a guy like that to be. Anyway, he seems like just a cool guy, very down to earth. Never crossed my mind to ask him about the future of TMV though :/
Anyway, I completely understand the poeple [sic] that don’t like this at all, I mean it could be a sign that their favourite band is breaking up wich would be very sad, in my opinion. I think TMV still has got a lot to give and the thought of never getting to see Omar perform with Cedric and Juan again is almost unbearable. I really hope I get the chance to see them again at least one last time.”

Tour Era
If the belief that the whole is better than the sum of its parts were to request an example to best assert its thesis, then Omar and Cedric in the latter half of 2012 and all of 2013 would be prime candidates. While differences in opinion are wider than the Grand Canyon when it comes to the output of this year, it is non-controversial to propose that none of it came close to what The Mars Volta had been con... read more
