One Day As A Lion was Jon Theodore’s first major project following his removal from The Mars Volta. The self-titled EP was met with critical acclaim and it was announced a full-length album was to follow. The band played a few live shows in 2011 with Joey Karam of The Locust on keys. Unreleased material was played during these shows, alluding that the full-length LP was still coming. Following this brief run of shows there was no further activity, suggesting that the LP would never be released.
In 2025 a trailer for Jon Theodore’s signature snare drum featured instrumentals for the song Peart Plus indicating the material was recorded at some point.
