The Marble Shrine
An online archive, research, and news service for the many artistic expressions of Omar Rodríguez-López, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, and the other members of At the Drive-In, The Mars Volta, and their related acts. Established in June 2007: a collective of fans documenting stuff because love comes in a lot of forms, alright?
What we do
The Marble Shrine catalogs the live history of these bands show by show: setlists, lineups, venues, recordings, photos, and posters, organized into the eras that connect them. We aim to be more than a fan site. We want to be a trusted resource, the way a library or an encyclopedia is, because the art we document deserves that care.

Where the material comes from
An archive is only as complete as its sources. Like a newspaper, an encyclopedia, or the Internet Archive, we gather, verify, and cross-reference material from everywhere it exists: tapes and recordings traded by fans, photographs and posters, setlists, press coverage, interviews, liner notes, and the memories of people who were in the room. We credit sources where we can, correct the record when we're wrong, and treat every submission as a piece worth preserving.
Found a show we're missing, a better recording, a wrong date, or a photo from a night we've only got fragments of? Send it our way. The archive grows because people share what they have.
Fair use & copyright
The Marble Shrine reproduces copies of photographs, video, and audio under Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act for the purposes of reporting, criticism, comment, and scholarship, including teaching and classroom use. This is a non-commercial research and documentary project. If you hold rights to material here and have a concern, please get in touch and we'll work it out.
