Kudu were a self-described Now-Wave band originally from Boston.  The band would relocate to New York City and gain significant attention and credibility in the local scene due to Deantoni’s intense, machine-like, drumming, Sylvia’s warm and sultry vocals, and Nicci’s synth work.  Although they never achieved significant success they influenced countless other bands from New York City and have a devoted cult-like fandom.  The band’s last performance was in 2009.  Although a break-up was never formally announced all three members became busy with other projects.

In 2012 it was announced KUDU would be releasing new material under the name Art World Killer.  Deantoni stated the album was going to be released on the Rodriguez-Lopez Productions label.  A music video was released.  The album was not released until 2020 as a Sylvia Gordon solo album.
