We do not have many recordings of this era of At the Drive-In,. Jim had just returned to the band following Ben’s firing, In/Casino/Out wasn’t released yet, and the band had not quite found their niche cult status in the American emo or hardcore scenes. This was a band in transition, from their riff heavy initial works to their more jagged and musically angular later half. The recordings is immaculate and the band while still young shows an incredibly amount of promise. It’s a fantastic window into the earlier days, just as they were turning the corner.
