The Mars Volta - Live in Newtown, Australia

January 27th, 2006 @ The Enmore Theatre

Notes

One of the very last gigs to feature Jon Theodore and man did he go out with style. Take the Veil had been swapped for Eriatarka along with the sweet ethereal grooving jam they would get into back in 2004. Drunkship of Lanterns has one of its most unique jams as it is one of the only occurrences of them playing in a major key for the Drunkship jam. Also, how can you ignore the fact they are playing Frances the Mute the song, and it sounds gorgeous.  Another contender for their best performance ever.  The Frances the Mute tour ended just as powerfully as it concluded.
