Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group - Live in Niigata, Japan
July 28th, 2007 @ Fuji Rock Festival
Setlist
Notes
A legendary one-off Omar Rodriguez-Lopez group show. This seems to be a coda to the 2005 ORLG, being the last time Money Mark would join Omar on stage. Thomas has replaced Marcel and drums, allowing him to focus on percussion and additional keyboard flourishes. La Tirania De La Tradicion is worth the price of admission alone with Cedric wildly howling about how he can see Peter’s house from up here. This rendition of Rapid Fire is the first to feature the “Never Heard a Man Speak Like This Man Before” line that would appear in The Bedlam in Goliath. As this was the last performance before the The Bedlam in Goliath tour started it serves as a final salute to the first proper era of The Mars Volta. What swan song!
