ANTEMASQUE - Live in Rochester, New York

November 12th, 2014 @ Water Street Music Hall
w/ Le Butcherettes

Notes

By the time ANTEMASQUE made it to the United States for the second leg of their 2014 tour they had found themselves with a tight hour setlist dominated by the powerful and sprawling Providence.  Their performance in Rochester is a strong representation of the band at the time.  Cedric’s raspy and harsh vocal style matches Dave’s thundering drums and Omar’s disjointed guitar shrapnel.  Providence during this show is a prime example of why many fans were hopeful about this band’s future, believing it could be a promising new direction for the pioneers of The Mars Volta.  In hindsight we know that is not the case, but for this brief moment it was okay to ponder.
